UAA's FLEET
UAA's
fleet is comprised of 34 to 36 Ton Side Tipper interlink
combinations as well as 34 ton Box side Tippers.
This allows for the loading of bulk as well as break bulk loads
throughout RSA and neighbouring countries.
DEDICATED CONTRACTORS
Apart from
UAA's
own fleet, we also have a dedicated contractor fleet of 40 units
comprised of the same configurations as
UAA's
own.
These vehicles are managed and operated by
UAA's
logistics team and is in actual fact a extension of
UAA's
own fleet.
This system allows
UAA
to take on major contracts through the use of dedicated
contractors whilst still maintaining full control of the
contractor vehicles.
SUB-CONTRACTORS
These are contactors who have been screened and approved and
found to meet the standard as required by
UAA
and its customers.
These sub-contractors are then allowed to render services on
contracts managed by
UAA.
All in,
UAA's
network approach through our three segments gives our company
access to approximately 1000 truck tractor units that allows
UAA
to deliver the best possible service to our clients.
MAIN
OPERATIONAL CENTRE
UAA's main operations centre is in Heidelberg (Gauteng),
from where
all planning and co-ordination is done regarding all loads
managed by
UAA.
All three divisions within
UAA (Own Fleet, DCS and SCS) are
managed separately to ensure that each division operates to its
highest potential to the benefit of all our clients and
subcontractors.
UAA's truck depot is situated just outside of Heidelberg on
the Vereeniging road and satellite depots in Durban (KZN),
Vryburg (Northern Cape) and Richards Bay (KZN).
VEHICLE
MONITORING (SATELITE TRACKING)
UAA's vehicles are monitored 24/7 by either our own personnel
and/or by Trucks Assist, a third party vehicle monitoring
company, who has certain protocols in place to ensure that the
vehicles and loads are safe during transit or stopovers.
All
UAA's own vehicles are equipped with camera systems covering
almost every part of the vehicle.
This helps with in resolving
any incidents that may occur on the road allowing
UAA to manage
cost and avoid costly downtime.
INSURANCE
All UAA
vehicles are
comprehensively insured and have Goods in Transit insurance of
R500k as standard.
Should any customer require higher GIT cover, we adjust this
value accordingly.
DRIVERS &
DRIVER TRAINING
All drivers are carefully screened and tested by UAA,
as well as, an independent party, to ensure that we only employ
the best.
From application to truck, a driver needs to complete a literacy
test, practical driving test, criminal checks as well as a
driver efficiency test done by a third party to ensure that all
criteria are met prior to UAA
trusting the
driver with our vehicles and our customers' cargo.

the units are left at the area of operation.
